Project Portfolio
South Metropolitan TAFE, Mandurah Campus
Yes, the rumours are true…
Australia is indeed facing a notable shortage of chefs in the hospitality industry, and as a result, Mandurah TAFE has recently expanded its hospitality program to address this issue. The objective of the program is to generate proficient individuals in the Hospitality and Commercial Cookery division who can actively participate in the growth of the industry, foster a better future, and provide possibilities for employment and career advancement.
The Mandurah TAFE has massively expanded its facilities to incorporate a fresh new hospitality department that encompasses a huge array of new facilities providing the latest in equipment and technology for their hospitality students. A full-scale production kitchen servicing the wonderful Saltbush restaurant, a bar, a barista training area with 5 coffee machine stations for training, and two amazing large-scale training kitchens designed for the students who will become our future chefs.
Caterlink was contracted to offer kitchen planning services including specification and design. Our team also facilitated project management, supplied equipment, and installed all fabricated stainless and modular Simply Stainless steel, kitchen and bar equipment, and Coolrooms. We placed high-performing, fit for purpose, appliances such as Waldorf floor standing cooking equipment, Convotherm Combi ovens, Turbofan Convection Ovens, Skope refrigeration, ITV Ice machines, Friginox Blast chiller/ Freezers, Meiko dishwashing, Robot Coupe planetary mixers and Metro Max Q shelving. Exhaust hoods were supplied by AOM and installed by our team – ensuring that we have the latest exhaust solution for a comfortable environment to work in.
Caterlink very much enjoyed the partnership approach with TAFE and EMCO Constructions on this project, the facility is second to none and we are proud to have been able to be a part of promoting an exciting future for those headed towards the hospitality industry.
