Situated on the ground floor of the ONE Subiaco development, Subi Continental promises to infuse new life into the heart of Subiaco. Upon entering Subi Continental, you will be immersed in an inviting and spacious interior thoughtfully designed by Kate Archibald. The decor incorporates elements of sandstone, blond timber, and neutral tones, creating an open and welcoming atmosphere. The seating options are abundant, ranging from dining tables and bar seats to medium-rise counters and cushioned benches.

The visionary behind this venture, Miles Hull, brings a wealth of experience in managing high-volume venues such as Ruinbar and Jetty Bar & Eats. Caterlink, with its longstanding partnership spanning over four years with Miles Hull, was delighted to collaborate on the Subi Continental project. The client’s vision was to create a European and New York-inspired space where guests could savour a leisurely lunch or enjoy a delightful evening meal, all with an inviting and casual atmosphere for drinks and snacks.

The project presented unique challenges due to the reserved car park underneath and support columns, which limited the ability to make necessary penetrations. The kitchen’s compact layout required innovative solutions to maximise efficiency. For instance, a combi oven with its own exhaust hood was positioned outside the primary cooking lineup to optimise front-of-house cooking arrangements. Smart storage and refrigeration solutions were also employed to ensure a seamless and efficient operation.

Unique project features and equipment used:
• Custom-made oyster display featuring a brass finish, which was coated with beeswax for an aged appearance. This display was a collaborative creation of Caterlink and Western Stainless Solutions.
• All SKOPE refrigeration units were employed with the environmentally friendly R290 gas.
• Convotherm combi ovens were utilised in the setup.

• MEIKO Australia Upster dishwashers and glass washers
• Blue Seal Black Series cooking equipment supplied by Moffat Australia / New Zealand
