Melbourne’s Largest Commercial Kitchen and Bar Space Is Officially Open!

Caterlink, leading provider of commercial kitchen and bar equipment, has officially opened its new showroom and Experience Centre in Mulgrave, Victoria. The site is now the largest commercial kitchen and bar showroom in Melbourne and marks a major milestone as the family-owned business celebrates 50 years of operation.
Spanning more than 320 square metres, the Mulgrave showroom has been designed to deliver practical, real-world solutions for the foodservice, hospitality, healthcare and project sectors. The opening represents a significant step forward in Caterlink’s national growth strategy and reinforces its long-term commitment to the Victorian market.
Founded in Perth, Western Australia, in 1976, Caterlink has grown steadily over five decades. The Mulgrave opening follows a strategic decision to consolidate its former Dandenong and Footscray showrooms into a single, purpose-built location. Mulgrave was selected for its strong transport connectivity, proximity to major road infrastructure and suppliers, and its ability to support faster lead times through increased warehouse capacity.
The new site serves as both a showroom and experience centre, welcoming operators, designers and consultants alike. It provides space to demonstrate equipment in action, support product education, and allow customers to trial solutions suited to cafés, restaurants, large-scale projects and commercial kitchens.

Caterlink Chairman Haydn Chrystal attended the official opening and highlighted the importance of the Mulgrave site within the group’s broader growth plans.

“
The opening of our Mulgrave showroom strengthens Caterlink’s national footprint and positions us for continued expansion in Victoria. This new site plays a key role in supporting our customers and partners as we grow our presence across Australia,”
Haydn Chrystal said.
The launch event was attended by suppliers and industry consultants whose collaboration has been instrumental in shaping the showroom’s offering. Every product on display has been carefully selected to support a wide range of applications, from independent cafés and restaurants through to large project environments.

Caterlink has operated in Victoria for eight years and delivers complete end-to-end solutions for commercial kitchens and bars, ranging from small servery kitchens to complex, large-scale healthcare facilities. Their long-standing involvement in the food service and hospitality industry has been shaped by a deep understanding of compliance requirements, workflow efficiency, food safety and the daily pressures faced by chefs, operators and facility managers.
Building a trusted reputation for reliable service, technical know-how and lasting partnerships. Recent and current projects include Mecca Bourke Street, Flight Club, Holiday Inn & Suites Geelong, Le Méridien Melbourne, Yea Memorial Hospital in Victoria, and the Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre.
Managing Director, Del Huwes said the vision for Mulgrave extended well beyond a traditional showroom.
“
When we were designing our Mulgrave experience centre, we knew we wanted more than a showroom, we wanted our customers to have an experience. A place where we could demonstrate technology, innovation, educate and have ideas come to life — where we could connect with our industry, discuss and solve real issues and challenges that we face. We knew we wanted to have many functional and operational products and give our customers a chance to use, try and taste, and to walk away feeling empowered with solutions,”
Del Huwes added.

Sarah Monaghan, Sales Manager, reiterated that Caterlink’s focus on relationships and in-person engagement remains central to its approach.

“
The market is becoming increasingly competitive, with more online-only businesses emerging. We continue to invest in an omnichannel model because nothing replaces face-to-face interaction. Welcoming customers in the showroom, showing them working solutions and supporting their growth is what sets Caterlink apart. Our Victorian team has been key to building that trust,”
affirmed Sarah Monaghan.
Caterlink’s Melbourne operations officially open to the public on 2 March. The opening month will feature a full month of promotions across 13 supplier partners, including campaigns with Moffat, B&S and MKN aimed at supporting operators transitioning from gas to electric equipment.
